Abstract
Voltage-temperature characteristics (VTC) of silver-sheathed (Bi-Pb)2Sr2Can-1CunOx tapes were analysed. The calculation of inductive transition curves was performed for specimens with known functional resistance-temperature dependence in the transition region. Investigations carried out using electronic microscopy proved that grains in conductors with a laminated structure consist of alternate lamellae of phases 2223 and 2212. The combined analysis of the VTC and structural investigation results made it possible to associate the Tc changes with the changes in the macrostructure of the superconductive core of the wire. The thickness of the screening layer obtained by the VTC calculations was equal to the total thickness of either the superconductive core, in specimens with a granular porous structure and grain thickness, or the separate lamellae of phase 2223 in specimens with a laminated structure. Keywords
