Abstract
SPORIDIOBOLUS johnspnii, is descr. to accommodate a heterobasidiomycetous fungus isolated from a pustule of Phragmidium rubiidaei in a leaf of Rubus idaeus. This fungus differs from Sporobolomyces spp. in that mycelium is present with clamp connections and thick-walled resting spores. Another fungus, isolated from a dead leaf of Acer macrophyllum, is descr. as Itersonilia pyriformis. Data on life histories, physiology, and nuclear conditions of the above fungi are presented. The advisability of the inclusion of the genera Tilletiopsis and Itersonilia by Derx in the family Sporobolomycetaceae is questioned.
