Abstract
THE frequent occurrence of hearing defects in patients with chronic renal insufficiency1 2 3 4 5 6 prompted us to investigate the influence of a successful renal transplantation on hearing.Cases and MethodsThe study involved 10 patients (seven men and three women, with an average age of 41.4 years) from the chronic-dialysis and transplantation programs. In eight patients the basic disease was chronic glomerulonephritis (Cases 1 to 8), and in two patients (Cases 9 and 10), it was hereditary nephritis.
