Abstract
Image contrast from a quasi-dipole can be similar to that from a single dislocation if its components are sufficiently close together, or similar to that from a true dipole in general. The former case is resolvable by careful field evaporation whilst this approach can only be successful in the latter case if the dipole intersects more than one pole during the evaporation sequence. Keywords
