Thermoelectric cooling device for image intensifiers

Abstract
A simple photocathode cooling device using the Peltier effect is described. The cathode temperature achieved is sufficiently low for the thermal emission from Sb-Cs and tri-alkali cathodes to be comparable with other sources of dark current in the image tube.Keywords
