Abstract
The 89 Y NMR linewidth Δ H and nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/ T 1 have been measured in YBa 2 Cu 3 O 6 in the temperature range from room temperature to 470 K with the external magnetic field parallel and perpendicular to the c -axis. Both Δ H and 1/ T 1 show critical behavior due to the three-dimensional (3D) antiferromagnetic phase transition at the Néel temperature T N =412 K. Above 425 K, the relaxation rate is already dominated by the 2D fluctuations of the antiferromagnetic square lattice of Cu 2+ .Keywords
