Codling Moth: Techniques for Rearing Larvae and Bioassaying Granulosis Virus1

Abstract
Procedures for rearing larvae of Laspeyresia pomonella (L.) and for bioassaying its granulosis virus were developed and evaluated. In the bioassay technique, a small area of diet was surface-treated to which feeding of the larvae was restricted initially. The LC 50 was 17 granular inclusion bodies/neonate larva/28 mm2 of diet surface. The prohibit regression equation was Y = 3.54 + 1.18 X.
