Abstract
Kwashiorkor is a complex deficiency disease closely related to ariboflavinosis. The pathology is characteristic of cases of riboflavin deficiency as studied in laboratory dogs. 16% of the population are affected. Old cases are refractory to treatment, therefore greater emphasis should be put on prevention and early diagnosis. Food yeast serves effectively as a counter agent against the general syndrome and could largely eliminate the disease if included in the diet from early childhood. Keywords
