Abstract
An inexpensive, simple and versatile digital photon correlator has been designed and fabricated with numerous applications in the areas of Doppler velocimetry, photon statistics, biology, and medicine. This sixty-four channel expandable correlator is operated by a 1 MHz clock and utilises a 1 k RAM for storing the correlation data. These stored data are finally displayed along with the channel number for 4 s by seven segment LEDs. Provision has been made to redisplay the memory as many times as desired until the RAM is cleared. The equipment has a built-in photon counter for counting the rates of photomultiplier tubes. Keywords
