Abstract
General conditions of parametric excitation and parametric quenching of the longitudinal plasma waves involving negative energy wave(s) are derived by expressing the growth rate of these waves in terms of quantities involving only the linear plasma conductivities and the amplitude of density modulation by the pump.Keywords
