Abstract
This study sought to provide direct estimates of the number of US children younger than 18 years who are exposed to alcohol abuse or alcohol dependence in the family. Data were derived from the National Longitudinal Alcohol Epidemiologic Survey. Approximately 1 in 4 children younger than 18 years in the United States is exposed to alcohol abuse or alcohol dependence in the family. There is a need for approaches that integrate systems of services to enhance the lives of these children. Keywords
