Abstract
Two cases of traumatic rupture of the thoracic aorta are reported. Both were successfully treated by surgery. One of the patients, a 21-year-old man was operated on within 10 hours of the injury. In the other patient, a traumatic aneurysm was resected 8 months after the actual traffic accident. The surgical management of the lesion is discussed and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment is stressed. Keywords
