SUMMARY Glaxo CT1341 is a new steroid anaesthetic. It produces immediate induction of anaesthesia of short duration when injected intravenously into experimental animals and recovery is rapid and uncomplicated. It has a high therapeutic index and has proved compatible with the adjuvant and pre-anaesthetic drugs, inhalational anaesthetics and neuromuscular blocking drugs commonly employed in anaesthesia. It is free from vascular irritation effects even when administered intra-arterially.
