Abstract
Bilateral implantation of the thyroxine in doses of 5-15 [mu]g led to an enhancement of adrenal function when implants were located in the mid-posterior median eminence or in the posterior part of the arcuate nucleus. A weaker activation could be observed from implants in the anterior median eminence. Implants in other hypothalamic areas or in the anterior pituitary did not change the corticosterone output of the adrenals. The possible modes of activation of the pituitary-adrenal system by thyroxine at the hypothalamo-hypo-physeal level are discussed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
