Abstract
We report a search for photon localization using a new experimental method which measures the effects of multiple elastic scattering on the shape of a short laser pulse injected into a random optical medium. Several systems have been examined which exhibit diffusive photon transport, but no evidence for strong localization. A theoretical assessment of candidate systems which might exhibit a photon mobility edge is presented. Keywords
