Approximation of non-monotone multivalued differential inclusions

Abstract
An approximation of non-monotone, multivalued differential inclusions, the so-called hemivariationa] inequalities, is presented. A relation between the approximation problem and the problem of finding a substationary point of an approximation of the corresponding potential function is also established. This relation makes it possible to solve the approximated problem by using nonsmooth, non-convex optimization methods. Some numerical experiments are also presented.
