Abstract
Employing analytic Hartree-Fock wave functions, model calculations have been performed on the structure and lifetimes of the slowly auto-ionizing states arising from in and Li. The effect of mixing with the associated is considered and the phenomenon of differential metastability discussed. A framework is provided to interpret experimental observations.
