Abstract
From the incubation mixture of rabbit testis homogenate, glucose, adenosine triphosphate, and Mg++ in presence of NaF at 37[degree]C for 20 minutes under 95% N2-5% O2, the Ba-soluble, ethanol-insoluble fraction was isolated. This fraction was characterized by paper chromatography using a methanol-80% HCOOH-water mixture (80:16.5:3.5). A large intense spot (Rf 0.41) was identified as glucose-1-phosphate. Smaller spots of glucose-6-phos-phate (Rf 0.52), fructose-6-phosphate (Rf 0.45) and inorganic P (Rf 0.63-0.64) were also detected.
