Abstract
The high mortality during the first year of life amongst children with congenital heart disease demands that more attention be paid to those in this age group. Diagnostic methods require some modification for their investigation and the electrogram recorded inside the heart by an electrode at the tip of the catheter is most helpful. A few of the ways in which cardiac catheterization in infants and the newborn is quicker, safer and more informative are illustrated. Keywords
