Catabolism of I131 Labelled Bovine Gamma Globulin in Immune and Non-immune Rabbits.

Abstract
The rate of catabolism of I131 labelled bovine gamma globulin in non-immunized, actively immunized, and passively immunized rabbits was measured by determining the rate of liberation of non-protein bound I131. The catabolism was much more rapid in both groups of immunized rabbits than in the non-immunized. The rate of catabolism for both actively and passively immunized rabbits was the same suggesting that only specific antibody is necessary for rapid immune catabolism of this antigen.
