Abstract
The simultaneous determination of acrinol (6,9-diamino-2-ethoxyacridine monolactate) and berberine chloride by ion-paired high-speed liquid chromatography [HPLC] is described. Separation can be achieved within 15 min, employing a 25 cm column packed with Zorbax ODS, using 5 mM sodium lauryl sulfate in 95% acetonitrile as an eluent with a Shimadzu Du pont LC-3A liquid chromatograph. The accuracy of this method was found to .+-. 1%. Acrinol and berberine chloride in pharmaceutical preparations were examined by this analytical method. These components were extracted with 20% (vol/vol) acetic acid and the extract was injected directly into the column. The contents were calculated from the calibration curve of previously prepared standards. This method is considered to be useful for the evaluation of these drugs. Keywords
