Abstract
A high‐temperature fast‐flow reactor (HTFFR) has been adapted to the study of the kinetics of diatomic radicals via laser induced fluorescence. In this work, the homogeneous gas‐phase reaction of AlO with O2 has been investigated near 1400 K. The reaction proceeds via AlO(v)+O2→AlO2 +O; k (v) = (3.1±1.7) ×10−13 ml molecule−1⋅sec−1, with no discernible difference between AlO in the v=0 and 1 vibrational levels. Keywords
