Abstract
The following conclusions appear justified. Relative to clinical studies on tryptophan metabolism in patients with bladder tumors, considerable evidence has been accumulated to support the tryptophan metabolite-bladder cancer hypothesis; no evidence has been shown to refute this hypothesis. As there is the relationship between tryptophan metabolism and heterotopic recurrences of human bladder cancer, clinical trials should be made to further substantiate this and to ascertain if vitamin B6 administration might retard the development of these recurrences. Keywords
