Abstract
Resistance to blackrot was found to be dominant over susceptibility and governed by polygenes. The dominance component of variation was greater than the additive in almost all the crosses. Breeding methods to be adopted for incorporating genes for resistance into susceptible varieties like Snowball are suggested. Keywords
