A Synthetic Vascular Conduit (Expanded PTFE) for Hemodialysis Access-a Preliminary Report

Abstract
The short term follow-up of the 13 PTFE [polytetrafluorethylene] synthetic grafts placed in 11 patients for chronic hemodialysis is reproted. PTFE graft appears to be a satisfactory alternative to a bovine graft for use as a subcutaneous arteriovenous conduit for hemodialysis. It is resistant to local infection.
