Abstract
A new method of fabricating two-dimensional optical fiber array which realizes fiber arrangement accuracy within ±10 µm is presented. A monolithic light emitting diode (LED) array is coupled to a 4×4 fiber array prepared by the present method. The coupled light output is measured to be highly uniform, exhibiting a variation of less than ±5%.Keywords
