Abstract
A further range of substituted 2-mercaptoglyoxalines was tested for antithyroid activity in rats. All 4-substituted is-mercaptoglyoxalines are less active than 2-mercaptoglyoxaline, the most active being the n-butyl derivative. S-Acyl derivatives of active 2-mercaptoglyoxalines are also active. S-Alkyl derivatives of some mercaptoglyoxalines show weak activity. Ergotamine administration reduces thyroidal I uptake, a sex difference sometimes being seen. Keywords
