Coherent photoassociation of a Bose-Einstein condensate

Abstract
We propose a phenomenological Hamiltonian for the analysis of photoassociation of a Bose-Einstein condensate. We find that, by adiabatically sweeping the frequency of the driving laser, a condensate of atoms may be converted rapidly to a condensate of molecules.Keywords
