Abstract
The IBM Electronic Data Processing Machines Type 701 and Associated Equipment constitute a large scale electronic digital calculator. These machines, which incorporate the newest devices for input, output, and storage, are currently in production at the IBM Plant 2, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. This paper presents a general engineering description of the 701 with emphasis on what are believed to be new techniques and concepts. Keywords
