Abstract
Labor and Monopoly Capital is one of the few texts to have recognized the importance of the sexual composition of the working class in the changing structure of employment in different sectors of production. It is relevant, therefore, to subject Braverman’s account of sexual divisions to critical scrutiny, to assess the extent to which the theoretical framework of Labor and Monopoly Capital enables Braverman satisfactorily to analyse the sexual division of labour. It is surprising that a book as important as Labor and Monopoly Capital has not attracted more feminist discussion and criticism and that most of the general critiques of Braverman’s work have largely ignored the important question of Braverman’s treatment of the sexual division of labour. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
