Abstract
Hermaphroditism in the normally dioecious sea scallop is described and illustrated after macroscopic and histological examination of the gonad. The possible causal factors and the occurrence of the phenomenon in other dioecious commercially important pelecypods are discussed. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
