Abstract
Based on the study of 310 Negroes with active tuberculosis, the incidence of the AS3 hemoglobin defect, sickle cell trait, is the same among tuberculous Negroes as it is among the general Negro population. There is nothing noted in the disease pattern of tuberculosis as it occurs in patients with sickle cell trait to distinguish it from the disease in patients without the trait. Keywords
