Abstract
Professional organizations should accept the following responsibilities: bring the various public health specialties in contact with each other; maintain up-to-date rosters of qualified personnel in their field; explore the development of new kinds of personnel to meet changing health needs; promote widespread research in personnel use and misuse; reevaluate periodically the efficiency of existing personnel and learn how to improve their efficiency; provide programs of professional education and prod the universities into establishing them; review licensing and other professional requirements to insure that they continue to promote quality health and medical care; mobilize and improve the effectiveness of volunteer workers; and take leadership in providing health workers with opportunities for professional mobility.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
