Abstract
The emission spectra and the integrated emission intensities for 11 efficient scintillator solutes in 2‐ethyl napthalene excited by x rays are reported. Data are also presented on the quenching of scintillation emissions by various materials used for loading liquid scintillators. Pulse heights under β‐ and γ‐ray excitation are also given, and new, efficient liquid scintillators are suggested. The role of solvent excimers in organic scintillators is discussed. Keywords
