Abstract
Tillers of the grasses Festuca ovina and Briza media and seeds of Lotus corniculatus and Plantago lanceolata collected from soils derived from Carboniferous limestone and dolomite were grown in nutrient solutions in which the concentrations of Ca and Mg were varied. The populations showed different responses to these 2 ions and the differences were taken to indicate their adaptation to the Ca and Mg status of the soils from which they were collected [United Kingdom]. Ca-Mg antagonism was noted with L. corniculatus and P. lanceolata but not with F. ovina and B. media. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
