Abstract
We consider the nematic-isotropic transition temperature for a rigid oligomer formed by linking identical mesogenic units together. In particular, we seek to relate the transition temperature for the oligomer to that of the constituent units, within the framework of the Maier-Saupe molecular field theory and its various parameterizations. Keywords
