Abstract
Application of a transfer hypothesis for turbulent energy within the spectra gives an explanation for the shape of some observed spectra of turbulent energy in forests and in the free atmosphere. Those spectra which show a “hump” may be explained by a process producing turbulent energy in a region where existing turbulent energy, produced at lower wavenumbers, is cascaded. The result is a depression at wavenumbers a little smaller than those where the additional source is producing. In the region of the second source a more or less developed peak is to be found. Keywords
