Abstract
Carbohydrate constituents, detd. chiefly by paper chromatography, for 60 lichens are reported. A sharp difference between the orders Pyreno-carpeae and Gymnocarpeae exists, since all of the former and none of the latter contain volemitol. Mannitol was found in all lichens investigated. Trehalose, sucrose, and umbilicin were also found. Arabitol occurs in Gymnocarpeae.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
