ΛProduction ine+e−Annihilations at 29 GeV: A Comparison with Lund-Model Predictions

This paper presents measurements of the inclusive production cross sections of $\Lambda$ baryons in $e^{+}{e}^{-}$ annihilations at $\sqrt{s}=29\mathrm{}$ GeV. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 256 ${\mathrm{pb}}^{-1\mathrm{}}$ collected with the High-Resolution Spectrometer at the SLAC storage ring PEP. Comparisons are made to the predictions of the Lund model. The data are well described with use of a strange-diquark suppression parameter, $\frac{\left(\frac{\mathrm{us}}{\mathrm{ud}}\right)}{\left(\frac{s}{d}\right)}$, of 0.89 ± ${0.10}_{-0.16\mathrm{}}^{+0.56\mathrm{}}$, and the measured ${\Lambda }_c\to \Lambda +X$ branching ratio of (23 ± 10)%.
