Abstract
This article examines issues in identification and programming for young gifted/talented handicapped children and explores factors that have inhibited these efforts. A discussion of a program at the University of Illinois, RAPYHT (Retrieval and Acceleration of Promising Young Handicapped and Talented), shows how one group conceptualized, developed, disseminated, and evaluated a model for identifying and programming for young gifted/talented handicapped children. Keywords
