Histamine and Connective Tissue

Abstract
Summary Histamine has been reported to act as an important factor in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. The influence of histamine and histamine liberator substances on tissue mast cells was studied. The degranulation observed was interpreted as a release of water-binding mucopolysaccharides in a response to increased tissue water provoked by histamine.
