Abstract
RRNA gene transcription rates were determined during light-mediated leaf development in Pisum sativum. The rate of transcription was observed to increase within 1 day of exposure to light and return to control levels 4 days after exposure. A striking similarity was observed between periods of elevated rRNA gene transcription and increased mitotic activity, suggesting a possible link between the two events. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
