Sudden bereavement: nursing interventions in the ED

Abstract
When a sudden death occurs, families are faced with the enormous task of dealing with the loss of a significant relationship without warning or preparation. This article describes a Bereavement Program established by nurses in a busy emergency department to help the families and to facilitate the bereavement process.
