The Electrodeposition Mechanism of CdTe from Acidic Aqueous Solutions

Abstract
Voltammetry was used to investigate the codeposition of from an acidic aqueous solution containing Cd2+ and ions. The formation of is controlled not only by diffusion; the adsorption of is also a step in the deposition process. Furthermore, the Cd2+ ions displace the from their adsorption sites, causing a shift of the Te(IV) reduction wave and a decrease in the limiting current K+ ions like Cd2+ ions, are also able to displace . A model is given to account for experimental results.
