Abstract
Compensatory movements of the eyes depend upon stimulation of the otoliths. Vertical and horizontal compensatory eye movements can be easily recorded from a patient on the parallel swing by an electronystagmograph. These reactions, however, are hardly influenced by unilateral otollthic disease. Counter-rotation of the eyes cannot easily be recorded by electrical means. By way of an after-image it is very possible to get good Information regarding mono- or bilateral dysfunction of the otoliths. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
