Comparative Study of Skin Homografts of Normal Donors and Donors With Malignant Neoplasia in a Host With Malignant Disease. A Preliminary Report2

Abstract
Twenty-five patients with malignant neoplasia were subjected to homograft transplantation. Each received 2 skin grafts, 1 from a normal donor and 1 from a donor with malignant neoplasia. Twenty patients rejected the skin homograft from the normal donor earlier, 3 rejected both grafts simultaneously, and 2 patients who received the graft of the donor with malignant neoplasia rejected it earlier. The possible mechanisms that may be responsible are loss of antigen in the skin of the patient and/or similarity in the antigens among patients with malignant neoplasia.
