The Detection of Cantharidin in Biological Specimens

Abstract

Cantharidin can be detected qualitatively by thin-layer chromatography and quantitated by gas chromatography using caffeine as an internal standard. These procedures were applied successfully to blood and tissues of animals given known amounts of cantharidin.
