Quenching of N(2D) by N2 and H2O

Abstract
Quenching rate coefficients have been measured for interaction of N(2D) with N2 and with H2O. For N2, data were taken between 198 and 372 °K, and the rate expression is kN2=1.0×10−13 exp(−1020/RT) cm3 molec −1 ⋅sec−1. Reaction with H2O was measured only at 300 °K, and a rate coefficient of 2.5±0.5×10−10 cm3 molec−1 ⋅sec−1 was found. Earlier temperature‐dependent measurements of N(2D) quenching by N2O were checked and confirmed.Keywords
