Abstract
The authors report the reduction of pulse-to-pulse timing jitter of a gain-switched DFB laser by external injection-seeding with a continuous wave (CW) laser. As the seeding power increases from –30 to –16 dBm, the timing jitter decreases almost linearly from 1.6 to 0.9 ps without a noticeable increase in the pulse width. Keywords
