A Comparison of the Paper and Starch Block Electrophoretic Methods for Determination of A2Hemoglobin

Abstract
The values for A2 hemoglobin, as determined by means of the paper electrophoretic methods and compared with the starch electrophoresis, are statistically valid levels for normal persons and those heterozygous for thalassemia. The diagnostic value of the A2 hemoglobin levels for thalassemia trait and the significantly higher paper method values are discussed.
